Overview
Titfertat Hats is an independent shop based in Richmond-upon-Thames. The business’ core activity is designing and creating original handmade headpieces for its discerning clientele. As a secondary source of revenue the business also sells designer hats, handbags and accessories.

The Need
Titfertat Hats first launched its online presence in 2001. The business had retained the same website for the past 5 years. Mary Spiteri, Titfertat Hats’ proprietor, contacted Arachnid Web Hosting with a view to revamping her site and adding an online shopping facility to maintain a competitive edge within the marketplace and create a new revenue stream for the business.

Our Proposal
Over a series of meetings with Mary at her Richmond-upon-Thames premises, Arachnid put together a plan which outlined the following actions:

• Creating a website based on Zen shopping cart – an extremely user-friendly and interactive e-commerce solution which is highly cost-effective;
• Branding and designing the generic structure of the shopping cart to match the existing physical business;
• Producing original copy that reflects and emphasizes the Unique Selling Points of the business and differentiates it in the marketplace;
• Uploading artwork that compliments the copy; and
• Registering titfertathats.com to run in tandem with the business’ existing URL titfertathats.co.uk and protect the brand name.

The Solution
Liaising closely with Mary, we produced her new site along previously agreed guidelines. Throughout the process there was close contact between Arachnid and Titfertat Hats to ensure the customer’s expectations were met and exceeded. Once Mary signed off on her new site, we transferred her hosting to our servers providing her with further cost savings.

The Result
Titfertat Hats' new site was successfully launched on-time, in full and under budget. Arachnid’s total invoice for web design, domain registration and annual hosting cost Mary significantly less than her previous provider had charged her for 12 months web hosting. At the same time our solution has provided the business a further way to increase revenue and profits.
